Summer Hiring Increases Look Steady, Not Sizzling
Many of the nation's largest law firms are hiring more summer associates for the upcoming season, a reflection of the legal industry's expectations of continued prosperity. Some of the top shops are showing increases of 10 percent or more, although Latham & Watkins increased summer associate numbers by an impressive 28 percent. "It's not booming yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic," said Elizabeth Moeller, assistant dean of career services at University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.
