Bugging the Boardroom
Normally, in-house attorneys probably don't identify with the characters on "The Sopranos" and their experiences. But soon, Congress may give antitrust investigators the go-ahead to bug corporate boardrooms, using the same types of wiretaps and electronic eavesdropping normally reserved for listening in on mobsters. Some white-collar defense attorneys call the proposal a radical change in the way federal prosecutors pursue antitrust cases.
